Lichas (Ceratarges) was named by Gürich (1901) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-u D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 774,1106]. It is not extant. Its type is Arges armatus.

It was reranked as Ceratarges by Thomas and Holloway (1988), Basse (1998), Jell and Adrain (2002), Sepkoski (2002), Pollitt et al. (2005).

It was assigned to Lichas by Gürich (1901); to Lichida by Sepkoski (2002); to Lichidae by Basse (1998), Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Trochurinae by Thomas and Holloway (1988), Pollitt et al. (2005).
