Taxonomy
Microconchus vinni was named by Zaton and Krawczynski (2011). Its type specimen is GIUS 4-3582/5, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jazwica quarry near Posłowice, which is in a Givetian/Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm wackestone in the Kowala Formation of Poland.

M. Zatoń and W. Krawczyński 2011Tube small, planispirally coiled (dextrally) and
cemented to the substrate over its entire length in early
ontogeny, later becoming helically uncoiled with the tube
growing upward. Umbilicus narrow. Septa present in early
ontogeny. Tiny pores penetrating the tube are lacking. From
other representatives of the genus Microconchus, the new
species differs in its tube exterior ornamented with distinct
transverse, sharp ridges passing without deflections and finer,
longitudinal striae set in rows.
