Pseudotupolichas was named by Phleger (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov S Wenl Sepkoski's reference number: 774]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Lichinae by Thomas and Holloway (1988); to Lichidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); to Lichida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Tetralichini by Pollitt et al. (2005).
