Manchurochelys manchoukuoensis

Taxonomy
Manchurochelys manchoukuoensis was named by Endo and Shikama (1942). Its type specimen is Registration No. 3898 (former Central National Museum of Manchoukuo), a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tsaotzushan, 21 km southwest of Yizhou, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine horizon in the Yixian Formation of China.

Zhou 2010A sinemydid turtle that is distinguished from Sinemys lens and S. gamera in having reduced frontals that are nearly excluded from the orbit, a cervical scute, a pygal, and eight neurals, and lacking a seventh peripheral process or spine. Distinguished from Dracochelys bicuspis by having separated prefrontals, a shallow nuchal emargination, a cervical scute, eight neurals, and a closed central plastral fontanelle.
