Ceratocara was named by Ramsköld (1991) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde O Cara-l]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Ceratocephalinae by Chatterton et al. (1997); to Odontopleurida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Odontopleuridae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
