Taxonomy
Ceccaceras stecki was named by Monnet and Bucher (2005). Its type specimen is PIMUZ 25207 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossil Hill FHB 15, Humboldt Range, which is in an Illyrian marine horizon in Nevada. It is the type species of Ceccaceras.
