Acherontisuchus guajiraensis

Taxonomy
Acherontisuchus guajiraensis was named by Hastings et al. (2011). Its type specimen is UF ⁄ IGM 34, a partial skeleton (mostly complete mandible, four maxillary fragments, and two partial ribs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Puente Pit, claystone layer underlying Coal Seam 85 (Cerrejón Coal Mine), which is in a Paleocene/Paleocene terrestrial claystone/coal in the Cerrejón Formation of Colombia. It is the type species of Acherontisuchus.
