Taxonomy
Macropyge was named by Stubblefield (1927) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-l O Trem-u Sepkoski's reference number: 378,618]. It is not extant. Its type is Gladiatoria gladiator.

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ceratopygidae by Bao and Jago (2000), Jell and Adrain (2002).
