Procolina teresae

Taxonomy
Procolina teresae was named by Borsuk−Białynicka and Lubka (2009). Its type specimen is ZPAL RV/711, a maxilla (Right maxilla), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Czatkowice 1 quarry, which is in an Olenekian fissure fill limestone/limestone in Poland. It is the type species of Procolina.

M. Borsuk−Białynicka and M. Lubka 2009Very small representative of the Procolophoninae. Size below the minimum of other East European procolophonids. Estimated adult skull length about 25 mm. Vertebral centra fused early with neural arches. Heterodonty combined with unicuspid crowns. Modal dental formula: 3 in premaxilla, 3−4.1.1. in maxilla, 5.1.2. in dentary. The vomer bears usually 5–6 large teeth. One of them is anteromedial in position, the other are organized in a single lateral row. The posteromedial part of the vomer is toothless. Palatine without teeth. Pterygoid ventrally concave; no teeth on the transverse flange. Very strong, indented premaxilla−maxillary joint.
