Taxonomy
Berruornis orbisantiqui was named by Mourer-Chauviré (1994). Its type specimen is MNHN R 4155, a set of limb elements (Incompete right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mont Berru, which is in a Thanetian fluvial conglomerate in the Sables de Bracheux Formation of France.
