Taxonomy

Shachemydinae was named by Khosatzky (1977) [in Nessov & Khozatzkii 1977].

It was assigned to Adocidae by Nessov (1984), de Lapparent de Broin (2004), Syromyatnikova (2011) and Tong et al. (2019).

Synonyms

Mlynarskiella was named by Shuvalov and Chkhikvadze (1986).

It was considered a nomen dubium by Danilov et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Adocidae by Sukhanov (2000).
Mlynarskiella mariani was named by Shuvalov and Ckhikvadze (1986). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ongon Ulan Ula, which is in a Cenomanian/Turonian terrestrial horizon in the Baishire Formation of Mongolia.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Danilov et al. (2011).

F. de Lapparent de Broin 2004	The Shachemydinae differ from the species of the node C, Adocinae, in: - the more ﬂattened shell; - the ventral border of the marginals progressively more narrowed toward the nuchal; - the posterior border of the intergulars truncated just in front of the entoplastron which is anteriorly shortened.
