Bathyurus ellipticus

Taxonomy
Bathyurus ellipticus was named by Cleland (1900). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed VI 2, Quarry by railroad track, Fort Hunter hamlet, Florida, which is in a Gasconadian shallow subtidal sandstone in the Tribes Hill Formation of New York.

It was recombined as Petigurus ellipticus by Bassler (1915); it was recombined as Hystricurus ellipticus by Fisher (1954).
