Dentaloscutellum was named by Chatterton (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 421,1106]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Styginidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
