Eurycare was named by Angelin (1854) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-u Sepkoski's reference number: 80]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Olenidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
