Pseudokainella was named by Harrington (1938) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-l O Trem-u Sepkoski's reference number: 378]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Richardsonellinae by Harrington and Leanza (1957); to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Remopleurididae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
