Taxonomy
Nuculopsis oviformis was named by Waterhouse (1964). Its type specimen is NZGS TM2447 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GS6072, Letham Burn (D44/f9623), which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Mangarewa Formation of New Zealand.
