Pyramus myiformis

Bivalvia - Pholadomyida - Megadesmidae

Taxonomy
Pyramus myiformis was named by Dana (1847). Its type specimen is USNM 3587 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wollongong Point, Illawarra (USNM coll), which is in a Wordian coastal siliciclastic in the Gerringong Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Pyramus.

It was recombined as Maeonia myiformis by Dana (1849).
