Taxonomy
Melvillosia canadense was named by Waterhouse (2001). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 35320, Hillock Point, Sabine Peninsula, Melville Island, which is in a Roadian marine horizon in the Assistance Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Melvillosia.
