Taxonomy
Cosmetocrinus middalyaensis was named by Webster and Jell (1992). Its type specimen is UWAF113385 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is QML770, Mundarrie Well, which is in a Sakmarian marine horizon in the Callytharra Formation of Australia.
