Retispira bittneri
Taxonomy
Bellerophon bittneri was named by Newell and Kummel (1942). Its type specimen is University of Wisconsin, No. 21341 and is a mold. Its type locality is Red Canyon gully, which is in a Griesbachian shallow subtidal packstone in the Dinwoody Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Retispira bittneri by Yochelson et al. (1985) and Kaim and Nützel (2011).
