Gracilignathichthys microlepis
Taxonomy
Gracilignathichthys microlepis was named by Bürgin (1992). Its type specimen is PIMUZ T.3243, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Valle Stelle, Tessin collection, Monte San Giorgio, which is in an Illyrian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Switzerland. It is the type species of Gracilignathichthys.
