Peltopleurus nothocephalus
Taxonomy
Peltopleurus nothocephalus was named by Bürgin (1992). Its type specimen is PIMUZ T.2902, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Acqua ferruginosa, Tessin collection, Monte San Giorgio, which is in an Illyrian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Switzerland.
