Taxonomy
Pentremites cornutus was named by Meek and Worthen (1861). Its type specimen is X-361 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Granatocrinus cornutus by Meek and Worthen (1866); it was recombined as Cribroblastus cornutus by Fay (1961), Macurda (1978).
