Taxonomy
Penaeus natator was named by Glaessner (1945). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sahil Alma (BMNH collection), which is in a Santonian carbonate lime mudstone in Lebanon.

It was recombined as Pseudodrobna natator by Charbonnier (2025).
