Perakaspis was named by Kobayashi and Hamada (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-u D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 421,1106]. It is not extant. Its type is Perakaspis trapezoidalis.
It was assigned to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Tropidocoryphidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
