Taxonomy
Encrinuraspis was named by Webby et al. (1970) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-u S Prid Sepkoski's reference number: 386]. Its type is Encrinuraspis optimus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cromus by Jell and Adrain (2002).

It was assigned to Encrinurinae by Evitt and Tripp (1977); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
