Taxonomy
Pehuenchia was named by Rusconi (1948). It is not extant. Its type is Pehuenchia tellecheai.
It was assigned to Palinuridae by Schweitzer et al. (2010); to Callianassidae by Karasawa et al. (2013); and to Mecochiridae by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2024).
