Platypleon nevadensis
Taxonomy
Platypleon nevadensis was named by van Straelen (1936). Its type specimen is MRHNB I.G. 18050, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SU 872, Pilot Mountains, which is in a Tuvalian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Luning Formation of Nevada. It is the type species of Platypleon.
