Enoploclytia tumimanus was named by Rathbun (1935). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 3 Stations: 264, 281, and 284, in the vicinity of Prairie Creek, Allenton..., which is in a Maastrichtian marine chalk in the Providence Formation of Alabama.
