Taxonomy
Uzbekbaatar wardi was named by Averianov (1999). Its type specimen is ZIN 83673, a tooth (left p4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CBI-117 (Shark Locality), Dzharakuduk, which is in a Turonian/Coniacian marine horizon in the Aitym Formation of Uzbekistan.
