Phacopidella was named by Reed (1905) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-u S Prid Sepkoski's reference number: 393,421]. It is not extant. Its type is Phacops glockeri.

It was assigned to Phacopidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
