Taxonomy
Callianassa magna was named by Rathbun (1918). It is not extant. Its type specimen is USNM 324270, a claw. Its type locality is USGS 6020a, Canal Zone, which is in an Aquitanian marine shale/mudstone in the Culebra Formation of Panama.
