Nothozoe was named by Barrande (1868) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto O Cara-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1075]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Thylacocephala by Sepkoski (2002); and to Phyllocarida by Schram (2014).
