Homolopsis dispar was named by Roberts (1962). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Eohomola dispar by Collins and Wienberg Rasmussen (1992); it was recombined as Homola dispar by Schweitzer (2001); it was recombined as Latheticocarcinus dispar by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
