Secretanella was named by Guinot and Tavares (2001). It is not extant. Its type is Xanthosia arcuata.

It was assigned to Decapoda by Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Etyidae by Schweitzer et al. (2012), Schweitzer et al. (2017).
