Katroma inflata

Discussion

Original description: Cephalis small, dome shaped, with long, well-developed horn. Horn circular in cross-section. Thorax and abdomen trapezoidal in outline. Caphalls, thorax, and abdomen closely spaced. Final post-abdominal chamber inflated and terminating in narrow, tubular extension. Test comprised predominantly of pentagonal and hexagonal pore frames. Pore frames small on earlier chamber, large on post-abdominal chambers. All pore frames with thin rims and sides. First post-abdominal chamber lacking circumferential spines and having small nodes at vertices (pl. 10, fig. 22).

Etymology: Inflatus-a-um (Latin, adj.) inflated.

Taxonomy
Katroma inflata was named by Yeh (1987). Its type specimen is NMNS (000127) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Suplee-Izee area, OR-600M, which is in a Toarcian marine tuff/limestone in the Hyde Formation of Oregon.
