Eoverruca was named by Withers (1935) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp]. Its type is Eoverruca hewitti. It is the type genus of Eoverrucidae.
It was assigned to Cirripedia by Sepkoski (2002); to Proverrucidae by Jagt et al. (2008); and to Eoverrucidae by Chan et al. (2021), Gale and Vidovic (2023).
