Ulophysema was named by Brattstrom (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo R]. It is extant. Its type is Ulophysema oresundense.

It was assigned to Cirripedia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dendrogastridae by Newman et al. (1969), Chan et al. (2021).
