Taxonomy
Raninella baltica was named by Segerberg (1900). It is the type species of Raniliformis.

It was recombined as Raniliformis baltica by Jagt et al. (1993), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Karasawa et al. (2014), Schweitzer et al. (2018) and Klompmaker et al. (2022).
