Taxonomy
Lophoranina cristaspina was named by Vega et al. (2001). Its type specimen is IHNCH-3428 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is IHM 1004, which is in an Eocene marine sandstone in the San Juan Formation of Mexico.
