Ranilia pororariensis was named by Glaessner (1980).

It was recombined as Laeviranina pororariensis by Feldmann and Maxwell (1990), Feldmann and Keys (1992); it was recombined as Quasilaeviranina pororariensis by Tucker (1998), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Karasawa et al. (2014).
