Taxonomy
Raninoides rathbunae was named by Van Straelen (1933). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 13372 - Cerro Cometa [Santa Rita Fm], which is in an Eocene marine horizon in the Santa Rita Formation of Venezuela.
