Actaeopsis was named by Carter (1898) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi]. It is not extant. Its type is Actaeopsis wiltshirei.
It was assigned to Palicidae by Glaessner (1969); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Xanthoidea by Karasawa and Schweitzer (2006), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Schweitzer et al. (2021).
