Taxonomy

Blepharipoda was named by Randall (1840) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-l Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Blepharipodidae.

It was assigned to Albuneidae by Rathbun (1926); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Blepharipodidae by Boyko (2002), Schweitzer et al. (2023).

Synonyms

Albunhippa was named by Milne-Edwards and Lucas (1841). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Blepharipoda by Schweitzer et al. (2023).
Abrote was named by Philippi (1857). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Blepharipoda by Schweitzer et al. (2023).
