Taxonomy
Cyclothyreus was named by Remes (1895) [Sepkoski's age data: J Tith]. It is not extant. Its type is Cyclothyreus strambergensis.
It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Dynomenidae by Schweitzer et al. (2003); and to Goniodromitidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010), Schweitzer et al. (2012).
