Taxonomy
Cancer (Romaleon) wahkiakumensis was named by Berglund and Goedert (1992). It is the type species of Anisospinos.

It was recombined as Anisospinos wahkiakumensis by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2000), Schweitzer et al. (2010).
