Taxonomy
Viaia tisae was named by Gašparič et al. (2022). Its type specimen is RGA/SMNH 3856/3857, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Velika Strmica, which is in an Aptian/Albian reef, buildup or bioherm floatstone in Slovenia.
