Taxonomy
Mesogalathea ardua was named by Gašparič et al. (2020). Its type specimen is RGA/SMNH 1783, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Velika Strmica, which is in an Aptian/Albian reef, buildup or bioherm floatstone in Slovenia.
