Glaessnerella was named by Wright and Collins (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: K Haut K Ceno]. It is not extant. Its type is Homolopsis spinosa.
It was synonymized subjectively with Dioratiopus by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Longodromitidae by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2011), Schweitzer et al. (2012).
