It was assigned to Brachyura by Woodward (1877); to Ranininae by Collins and Wienberg Rasmussen (1992); to Raninidae by Glaessner (1980), Feldmann and Keys (1992), Feldmann (1993); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Lyreidinae by Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Marylyreidinae by Karasawa et al. (2014), Schweitzer et al. (2018).
